What’s a great way to engage student interest and enhance your California history curriculum?
A field trip to Mission San Luis Rey de Francia!!
The historic Mission structures and extensive grounds tell of our nation’s frontier past and the proud heritage that helped to form California.
- Our museum displays with original art and artifacts bring alive the Mission Era for students and parents alike
- In addition, your students can observe an active Mission – San Luis Rey is still home to Franciscan friars and continues to serve the community as a historical, educational and religious center
Our 4th grade studies program includes a short presentation to your class(es) in the Mission Church, followed by touring of the museum and grounds at your own pace. Picnic grounds with tables are available for lunch before heading back to the classroom. (You can plan a total of 2 ½ hours for your visit.). The 4th grade group rate applies to everyone in your party. Once your field trip is confirmed, you will receive a packet of information with educational tools.
