Private Retreats
The Retreat Center at Mission San Luis Rey is available to individuals who would like a respite for solitude and personal spiritual development without participation in a formal program.
The Retreat Center has a total of 51 rooms for overnight guests. Each room typically has two twin beds, a sink and a desk, (two rooms have three twin beds). European-style restrooms in the hallways have private showers and toilets. Our 56 acres of property include beautiful gardens and walkways. The Stations of the Cross, along the back of the property, provide a perfect backdrop for meditative walks and prayer. The swimming pool is available at no charge to Retreat Center guests (safety restrictions apply).
For prayer and meditation, the Historic Mission Church is open Mon.-Sat., 7-9 a.m.; Guests also have access to the Retreat Center Chapel; and Mass is celebrated Mon.-Sat., 7:30 a.m., at the Parish Chapel, east of the Mission. Spiritual direction is available by appointment.
Reservations are required in advance and must be made with a credit card. All cancellations must be received 7 days prior to the confirmed date of arrival, or a "cancellation fee" of 50 percent of the full room charge will be applied.

Meals
Lunch is served daily.
Breakfast and dinner are available only if there is a group staying overnight in the Retreat Center. When the kitchen is open, the higher rate applies.
Dinner is NOT served on Sunday night. We are NOT able to honor special meal requests for private retreat guests.
