Adventures of the Heart: Early Franciscan...
July 26, August 2, 9, 12, 16, & 30, 2012
Sessions begin at 10:00 am and will be repeated again at 7:00 pm.
This six-week course will explore the seminal Franciscan Mystics, beginning with the ‘existential mysticism’ and paradoxical Christology that finds God on his knees in the vision of Francis of Assisi and the face of Christ reflected as one’s own when gazing into a mirror in the profound mystical imagery of Francis’ spiritual companion Clare.
After making an acquaintance with the Founders, we will move through the complex academic/scholastic mysticism of both Bonaventure and John Duns Scotus, to some of the major lay mystics, many of them women. Don’t miss one session as Fr. Tom tells the stories of these wild adventures of the heart that animated the age.
Suggested donation $10.00 per session or $45.00 for 6 sessions.
To pre-register call the Retreat Office at 760-757-3659 or sign up online. If registering for the 6 week discounted rate use the box that reads Shared Room at $45
